Reiki Practitioner

I was born in East Germany and spent my childhood and youth behind the now world-famous Wall. The fact that I couldn't explore other cultures was unbearable to me. My family was torn apart, and more than half of my family members lived in West Germany, and it was impossible to visit them, even though they were only a few hundred kilometers away. Growing up in a dictatorship, surrounded by spies and informers, forced to take part in paramilitary education,  caused a lot of anxiety and panic attacks and I suffered for as long as I can remember. I escaped into books and was already interested in topics about medicine, yoga, meditation and the healing power of plants as a child. My biggest wish was to study medicine. The government hasn't permitted because my parents were not members of the socialist party.

To not completely let go of my creativity, I did a bachelor's degree in art, specialised in photography.

Just when I graduated, the Wall fell, and we were free overnight, a feeling that is hard to describe. Immediately I started traveling and spent time in North Africa, Portugal, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, Australia and I soaked everything up like a sponge. Foreign cultures, religions, art, various healing methods.

Meanwhile, I lived in Munich and worked there as a photographer.

My anxiety and panic attacks were still present, more or less intense. My stomach got heavily attacked one day, and the fact of being always tense caused back pain and a feeling of discomfort.

By chance, a customer of mine offered me a Reiki treatment in my photo studio. I was very skeptical and thought, at least it cannot hurt. After this treatment, I got converted, and this feeling of inner peace and relaxation I had never experienced before, was overwhelming.

Eleven years ago, I moved to Australia, and I still had Reiki in my mind :-). Another coincidence finally brought me together with a Reiki Master, and I began a 3-year training as a Reiki Practitioner. It started a mind-blowing journey, and I can not thank my Reiki Master enough. I learned to reflect my life and my entire past. With the power of Reiki I started to heal.

Reiki became my passion.
